In preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games and anticipated increase in tourism, Visit Kent commissioned an online training game to support the tourism industry.
Visit Kent was seeking to provide regionally specific training for their partners and sponsors.
Organisations and businesses within the tourism sector wanted to offer their staff including seasonal workers and volunteers a full programme providing up-to-date local tourism information and more general customer service skills.
The ‘Great Kent Race’ was designed to meet a key criterion – online training that was informative, fun and engaging.
Users training data is continually stored as each option is selected and a comprehensive bespoke 'back office' was built enabling administrators to see a snapshot of anyone's training status at any point and to run mini-reports in real-time online, and also to download the complete dataset at any time.
Incentivised game structure with randomised prizes for players.
The online tool was used to provide training for the Kent tourism sector in preparation for the Olympic Games 2012.
